What Can I Eat?
Diabetes is a 24-7 balancing act between food and your blood sugar, which only gets trickier at holiday time. Fortunately, diabetes is not a life sentence to a rigid, deprivation-oriented meal plan -- and the concept of a "diabetes diet" is mostly myth. The best diet for a person with diabetes is the same healthy diet that's best for everyone. When Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the other winter holidays threaten to overturn your healthy eating plan, just remember the basics to help you stay on track.
